Photo frames with Krishna theme

Sorry, I have been busy with the construction of our studio.  I haven't got any time to  post anything for the last month or so.  Here is one of the photo frames I had done in the meantime.

This one was quite a challenge and I really enjoyed designing this one.  While the inner photo was of the standard size, the outer frame was not standard.

The line drawing of the Krishna was given by the customer.  The image was smaller and I had to enlarge it to fit the width of the frame.  The challenge was maintaining the relative size and distance of the lines intact.  A little deviation and the Krishna would not look good.  The frame size is cut just so that the end of the flute sticks out of the frame.

The peacock feather was easy to design, but took considerable time in preparing.

This is another frame with Krishna and Rahda's with parijata flowers.  Again, I had to maintain the line drawing thickness, length and relative position.

The customer wanted a frame for a child's picture.  This one gives a impression that a naughty baby Krishna just left the building...

I just loved working on this theme.  It was challenging both for designing and working.

Preparing for Sunday Soul Sante

Its close to a month and I haven't updated anything on my website.  Well, I have been busy preparing for Sunday Soul Sante.  As you may know the Nov 6th event was postponed.  The new date is most probably on Dec 11th.  I've prepared a whole bunch of photo frames, earrings and gift boxes.  I have also prepared recycled bags so that my customers can carry it away easily after shopping.

Well, its a good thing the event got postponed.  As most of my products are made with paper, I was really worried the rain would spoil everything.

I'll upload the pictures of all the new products I have prepared soon.

Tomato box

Here is a cool way to store your accessories.

The tomato's stomach is made up of a plastic box.  The lid of the box was broken and I decided to reuse it.

Kids would love to have one.  This can also be used as a return gift in birthday parties with some chocolates or other goodies.

Also the dressing table looks so neat and stylish.

I prepared some designer hair clips:

The crochet flowers have a bead sewed in the middle.  These clips can be customized to match the dress and accessories.

Frame with quilled flowers

I made this frame to give it as a gift to a friend I was meeting after a long time.  I had to travel overnight and I wanted to make sure the 3D quilled flower survive the journey.  I reused a fillair airbag and put this in a box.  That saved the day...

Here is the frame:

Bouquet of paper flowers

Made this small bouquet of flowers.  I think the carnations are too few in the bunch.  I'll add some more.  The vase is made from a recycled tissue roll.

3D Quilled butterfly fridge magnet

Looks like its butterfly season.  There is a steady rise in the number of butterflies in our garden since the last one week.  Inspired by this, I created this butterfly.

Raised double frame with fillers

As I had mentioned in my previous posting, the raised double frames made with handmade paper is too delicate.  This frame is approx 13"x13".  I used paper fillings in this.  This is still lightweight but sturdy.  It does not crumple with normal handling and can be easily packed as well.

3D quilled flowers in a raised double frame

I had got one of my quilled work framed from Van Gogh Frames. (See my earlier post here).  I liked the raised frame that they did.  I decided to create my own double frames with handmade paper.  I tried it out and it turned out to be really good.  I decided to add some quilled flowers in it.  Here is the result:

This is a small frame, just 6x4 inches.  I have another picture which I received as a gift which is ~ 12x12 inches.  I'm creating a raised double frame to it as well.

These frames are hollow and very light weight.  They appear to be voluminous though.  Now that I am making these frames, I have all the customization options.  Only issue is that they can be easily squished.  A little pressure and they'll easily crumple.  I am trying to use fillers in the hollow space for the next frame.  I'll post those pictures when I am done.

3D quilled bride and groom

The bride and groom are not bigger than my thumb.  I had some difficulty in drawing their faces.  Well, its evident from the picture below..

The brides hair was the most difficult part.  I guess, thats true in real life as well.

My first photo frame

This is one of my first photo frame.  I just wanted to try out photo frames and it turned out to be quite good.
Thought, I'll post it as well.

Bookmarks with dried flowers

Bookmark made with dried flowers on handmade paper.  Of course, this cannot be used directly as touching the flowers would spoil it.  This has to be either have to be covered with a plastic case or laminated.

Photo frames of handmade paper

These photo frames are made of handmade paper.  The design is placed in a corner.  That way a photo in both landscape and portrait orientation would look good.

Although the stitch is simple, the amount of stitching in this piece is quite a lot.

Framed cross stitch

Framed cross stitch work:

Getting this framed is a bit tough.  As you can notice, the borders are not straight when framed.  I guess, this kind of has its own beauty.  It looks handmade.

Another 3D quilled flowering plant

Well, this took some time.  Creating individual petals, assembling them into flowers.  Then there were leaves.  Finally, assembling them onto the handmade paper to give a raised look.  Looks amazing after framing!
